where is ion content controlled ?

A

THE KIDNEYS

1) ions are taken in by food then absorbed in the blood
2) if theres too much ion(salt) it’ll need to be removed
3) some ions will be lost in sweat
4) the kidneys will then remove the excess from the blood, usually through urine.

A

how are sugar levels are controlled?

A

1) eating foods with carbohyrates puts glucose into the gut
2) Metabolic rate usually removes glucose from the blood but if someone does TOO much exercise then too much is removed.
3) insulin helps to maintain the right amount of glucose, so your cells get the right amount of energy
