What is the definition of homeostasis
Where your body maintains a constant internal environment
Why does your body need to maintain a constant internal environment?
So body cells can work properly
What 4 thing does your body need to keep constant?
Ions
Water
Temperature
Blood Sugar
Name 2 ions that the body needs to function properly
Sodium
Potassium
How do you increase the level of ions in the body?
Food
If your body has too many ions how does it get rid of them?
The kidneys remove the ions in urine
How is the level of water in the body increased?
Food
Drink
How is water lost from the body?

What is the job of enzymes?
To control chemical reactions in the body.
What happens if the body temperature goes too far above or below 37°C?
The body cells stop working properly
