When does outbound timing commence ?
A
Over or abeam the holding fix, whichever is later

A

Direct hold entry
A
On reaching the holding fix, turn right and enter the holding pattern

Parallel hold entry
A
On reaching the fix, turn left outbound for the specified time then turn(e.g 1 min below FL140) back towards the fix and turn right into the hold

Offset hold entry
A
On reaching the fix turn to heading which tracks 30° from the reciprocal of the inbound track then fly outbound for a specified time or until the limiting DME, then turn right to join the inbound track.
