Sea walls and groynes can increase erosion. The curved walls reflect the energy which is the returned to the beach and strips away the sediment, this can undermine the seawall
Groynes can interfere with natural sediment transfer. While sections of the coast are protecetd, sections further south loose their beach material and protection
