Hoist Electrical Failure
A
- Ensure hoist control master switch is in pilot or crew
- Circuit breaker - reset
If hoist still doesn’t respond
- Crewman recover cable utilizing the manual override
- WARNING - use caution when operating hoist in emergency mode. Limit switches will be bypassed and will not stop the hoist at either extreme.

Hoist Hydraulic Failure
A
- Ensure hoist control master switch is in pilot or crew
- Isolation advisory light - illuminated
If isolation advisory light is not illuminated, open isolation valve with another subsystem. This will allow the crewman to operate hoist with the manual override
If unable to gain control of the hoist
- Hoist control master switch - off
- Return personnel/cargo to the water/deck

Runaway Hoist Cable
A
- Hoist control master switch - off
- Hoist power circuit breaker - pull
- Open isolation valve with another subsystem
- Regain control of the hoist with the manual override*WARNING - use extreme caution when operating hoist in emergency mode, limit switches are bypassed and will not stop at either extreme
