Feudalism was a structural system where land is granted in exchange for services, their social hierarchy put kings at the top, then nobles, knights, and peasants, it’s purpose was to make protection and a structure of a system without the Roman empire

What were the crusades? How did they change the social structure in Middle Ages?

A

When Byzantine is attacked by a Muslim army, they called to the west for help and became a battle of Christians battling Muslims for the recapture of holy land. Since all the knights left for the crusades, there was no knights in the structure anymore

A

They failed to recapture the holy land
