Flattened, single layer, nucleus typically is visible= cobblestone like appearance
Function: gas/fluid exchange, lubricated barrier
Ex) small intestine, endothelium (line blood vessels + Serosa lined peritoneal cavity, pericardial, pleural)/mesothelium (mucosa lined: alimentary, GI, RT)
