Based on idea not all people are equal bc did not behave equally in previous lives Karma follows into next life People accept their caste bc of this Litttle mobility bt castes Marry within own caste "Maintains natural order" Each has own dharma (duty) to fill

The way of action, doing good karma generating actions Generators of good karma -dharma (duty) -Artha (pleasure) -moksa (liberation)
JNANA YOGA
The way of wisdom, dedicating life to understandingand awareness
To understand wisdom requires renunciation and giving up attachment to individuality
The true self is brahman
Truth is within
Detachment brings peace and clarity
Must look past maya the illusion of the world
The atman is beyond human comprehension and is imperceptible and immortal
BHAKTI YOGA
The way of devotion- giving all lifes passion to worshipping a particular deity
Done with faith to the god

Duty Includes Ritual purification Rites of passage (samskara or sacraments) Festivals Pilgrimage
