Giant cobra floated on water. Inside coils lay vishnu, asleep. (Sustains, maintains)
Vishnu awoke from sound of ohm. From his navel a lotus flower grew.
Inside the flower sat brahma, the god of creation.
Vishnu vanished but Brahma remained in lotus. He calmed the wind and the ocean.
Brahma split lotus into three. One made into heaven, one earth and the other sky.
The earth was bare. Brahma created vegetation and gave it feelings.
He created creatures and gave these senses.
The world filled with life, the air filled with the sound of brahmas creation.
