  1. Warms the channels and stops bleeding; addresses bleeding due to deficient cold and can especially warm the Lower Jiao (and uterus) for prolonged menstrual bleeding and uterine bleeding. Also used for vomiting due to Middle Jiao deficient cold
  2. Disperses cold and alleviates pain; treats dysmenorrheal, infertility, and epigastric and abdominal pain due to deficient cold
  3. Warms to the uterus and calms the fetus; treats restless fetus, lower abdominal pain, and vaginal bleeding as in threatened miscarriage
  4. Topically used for skin itching from eczema
