- In 1523, Wolsey tried to raise money for France war, only £300,000/£800,000 required.

- King James I of Scotland killed in failed siege on Battle of Flodden Field - early
- Treaty of Bruges 1521, Wolsey promised Charles to declare war on France if Francis refused to make peace –> Charles invaded Italy instead, which meant losses of £400,000
