Interpersonal - firgurehead
The figureheads role is to represent the the organisation to the outside world. The strong figurehead can lead to valuable PR and media attention

The leaders role is to inspire and motivate employees. employees will want to work hard to please their leader thus meeting company objectives more efficiently
They make core decisions
Interpersonal - liaison
The liaison role involves developing relationships and channels of communication both within and out of the organisation
Regular meetings
Informational - monitor
Examining information received from internal and external sources.
The workforce will be more productive if the managers is checking if work is being done
Supervision
Budget control
Informational - Disseminator
Distribute and convey information to employees and other internal stakeholders relating to objectives so that everyone is clear what is expected and less likely to go of course in meeting objectives
Hold meetings
Train staff
Spokesman
Attend board meetings to communicate new business ideas e.g. new product development (attends interviews with journalists and reporters)
Decisional - entrepreneur
Comes up with ideas and makes decisions on the businesses direction. (brainstorming and innovation)
Able to balance risk and reward
Decisional - disturbance handler
Deal with any problems that arise and take corrective action.
Settles disputes within team.
Decisional-Resource allocator
Makes decisions as to how finances, staffing and technology are used within the business.
Decisional - negotiator
They act as the go between when different stakeholders need to reach an agreement e.g. contract with suppliers
Communicate with trade unions
Negotiate with suppliers
