Division of labour
Having the workforce segregated will enhance the quality of the product. The decision of work improves efficiency and accuracy
Authority and responsibility
Managers must be able to give instructions and exercise authority to ensure these orders are carried out.
Discipline
Employees must comply with the rules and regulations of the business if the rules are broken, they must face the consequences
Unity of command
Employee should have one boss and follow their command. If they have more than one there can create a conflict of interest (confusion)
Unity of direction
To minimise confusion and conflict teams with the same task should be working for the same manager and towards the same goals.
Centralisation
The involvement of employees in core decision making through the use of quality circles etc will minimise the resistance to change
