- not for skin closures bc affects healing of skin edges
- not for contaminated wounds

- don’t leave in pt is used near spinal cord, optic nerve or any area w/ nerves
- don’t use w/ thrombin-affects its effecacy
- not for bone defect implantation (fx) due to interference w/ callus formation
