What is hemisection
A
removing one root and half of the crown of a two-rooted tooth, combined with appropriate endodontic treatment of the remaining tooth fragment
a two‐rooted tooth being cut the furcation into two pieces, including the crown.

Prognosis of hemisection is dependent on
A
Root length and curvature
the shape, size and position of adjacent teeth
pre-existing alveolar bone pathology may also influence the end result.
