A

parties: organizations that attempt to influence social action and focus on achieving some political goal

power: chance that a person/group can realize its own will in communal action, even against resistance of others

status group: group based on social honour/prestige & has “style of life”

pro:
- reduce inconsistencies in the certification process
- increase consumer awareness about fair trade initiatives
- educate consumers about plight of producers around the world

con:
- supply for fair trade outpaces demand
- mistakenly assumed that all plantations provide same benefits for farmers & cooperatives
