Ménière disease presentation
Episodic (20 min - 4 hr) vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus & ear fullness
Labyrinthitis presentation
Severe vertigo, gait instability, N/V & unilateral hearing loss occurring as single, acute episode
(Vestibular neuritis + unilateral hearing loss = labyrinthitis)
Normal intraocular pressure
8-21 mm Hg
Elevated >30 mm Hg
Eye chemical burn goal pH with irrigation
7.0 - 7.4
Otitis media complication that causes sixth nerve palsy?
Lateral sinus thrombosis
Medication contraindicated in sickle cell patients with hyphema?
Carbonic anhydrase inhibitor (lowers pH –> increased sickling)

Zones of neck
1: sternum & clavicle to cricoid cartilage
2: cricoid cartilage to angle of mandible
3: angle of mandible to base of skull/mastoid air cells
(penatrating neck injuries are those that go through platysma muscle)
