what does an SA node block look like on an ECG?
normal p waves, normal timing but there is a lack of a P wave for sometime and so no QRS after too
what are all the AV node block types?
1st Degree 2nd Degree - Morbitz type1 - Morbitz type 2 3rd Degree (full block)
what is the general treatment for AV node block?
Atropine (increase heart rate)
Transcutaneous pacing- through electrodes on the skin
Permanent pacing- device implanted to monitor rhythm, detects delay and will send impulse
what are the common symptoms with heart block?
bradycardia
syncope
chest pain
where does Morbitz 1 occur?
within the AV node
- so effected by parasympathetic innervation
where does Morbitz 2 occur?
below the AV node
- not effected by parasympathetic innervation
