Q

Double circulatory system

A

Route:
First part pumps blood to lungs to pick up oxygen and release carbon dioxide
Second part pumps blood around the body and back to the heart as de oxygenated blood

Q

How does fitness affect cardiovascular system?

A

Strengthens heart muscle
Improves heart’s ability to pump blood to your lungs and throughout your body
More blood to muscles
Heart muscle become more efficient and better able to pump blood through body
Better blood flow less clogging up= less heart attacks

Q

What happens to heart rate breathing rate and depth of breathing during exercise?

A

When exercising the heart rate is increased , this is because when exercising muscle cells respire more than when they are at rest, as they need more energy, and therefore need more oxygen
The heart contracts and releases faster so that sufficient oxygenated blood is taken to the muscles or around the body to make sure the muscles can continue to respire
Rate and depth if breathing increase to make sure more oxygen absorbed into the blood
Get more o2 in and co2 out
