Heart Flashcards
Ridges in the wall of atria
Musculi pectinati
Attach to the mitral and tricupsid valve
Cordae tendenae
Receives blood from the coronary veins
Coronary sinus- Opens in the right atrium
Muscular ridges in the interior of the atrium
Crista terminalis- splits the sinus venorum (posterior) and atrium proper (anterior)
Muscular pouch that acts to increase atria capacity
Right auricle
Solid muscular wall that separates the right and left atrium
Interatrial septum
Small oval shaped depression in right atria
Fossa ovalis- used to be foremans ovale (bypass heart right to left)
Ventricular muscular ridges
Trabeculae carnae- sponge like appearance
Extends superior aspect of the left atria
Left auricle- overlapping the pulmonary trunk
Anchored into the base of ventricles
Papillary muscles- contract to pull chordae tendineae, stop prolapse
Separates right and left ventricle
Intraventricular septum
Ligamentum arteriosum
Used to be ductus arteriosis which attached the pulmonary artery and descending aorta to bypass the lungs
Right coronary arteries
Posterior intraventricular artery
Right marginal artery
PRM
Left coronary arterys
Left coronary artery Left anterior descending Left marginal artery circumflex LCA and LAD
