Investigations:
Rinne’s and Weber’s Tests. What will be the results in a Conductive and Sensorineural HL?

What type of test is Audiometry? How does it work?

What are the objective tests?

A

➊ • Conductive - Rinne’s B>R. Weber’s will lateralise to the affected ear.
• Sensorineural - Rinne’s A>B. Weber’s will lateralise to the normal ear.

➋ Subjective test - Measures quietest sounds a person can hear at different frequencies in each ear

➌ • Otoacoustic emissions (OAE) – Test of outer hair cell cochlear function
• Auditory Brain-stem evoked responses (ABR) – Test of auditory nerve function
