what is muscular strength
ability of body to exert force against a resistance in one maximal effort
what is cardiovascular endurance?
agility of heart and blood vessels to supply working muscles with oxygen for extended periods (20+ mins)
what is flexibility?
range of motion of joints in the body - varies from person to person
what is body composition?
relative percentage of body fat in relation to lean body tissue
what is muscular endurance?
ability of muscles to repeatedly contract for extended periods of time without tiring
how can you measure cardiorespiratory endurance?
- beep test
- VO2 max/sub-max test
- 12 minute/1.6km run
how can you measure muscular strength?
- hand grip dynamometer
- level 5-7 sit-up test
how can you measure muscular endurance?
all until fatigue:
- push-ups
- chin-ups
- sit-ups
how can you measure flexibility?
- sit and reach test (hamstring + lower back)
- knee-to-wall test (soleus)
how can you measure body composition?
BMI
