What can some diseases interact to cause?
Physical and mental health issues
How would defects in the immune system affect a person
Increased chance to suffer from communicable diseases such as influenza, because their body is less likely to defeat itself against the pathogen
How can infection by viruses in cells trigger cancer
Infection with hepatitis virus can cause long term infections in the liver, which can increase chances of developing liver cancer
What can immune system reactions initially caused by a pathogen trigger?
Allergies such as skin rashes or worsen asthma

Mental illness and depression, particularly if they have an impact on the person’s ability to carry out everyday activities
