Q

What is an example of negative feedback loop? Explain the steps.

A

Blood pressure

  1. Stimulus: Reduced blood volume
  2. Receptors: Baroreceptors
  3. Input: Afferent pathway to brain
  4. Output: Efferent pathway to Heart and Blood vessels
  5. Response: Heart beats harder and faster and blood vessels constricts
  6. Outcome: Blood pressure returns to homeostasis

Q

What is an example of a positive feedback loop?

A

Blood clotting

  1. Stimulus: Cut
  2. Stimulates platelet aggregation
