The ability to complete everyday tasks without distress or discomfort.
What is a lifelong sport?
A sport you can participate in throughout your life. It places little stress on your joints or bones.
What are examples of lifelong sports?
Walking, swimming, lawn bowls.
What are the benefits of physical activity on your physical health?
Fat loss/Increased muscle mass/Increased muscle tone/Greater flexibility/Improved cardiovascular fitness/Improved lung capacity/Strong heart-rate/Lower resting heart-rate.
What are the benefits of physical activity on your mental health?
Increased self-esteem or confidence/Increased happiness (endorphine release)/Stress release/
What are the benefits of physical activity on your social health?
Make new friends/Improved social skills/Improved teamwork skills.
How can you ensure you live a healthy and active lifestyle?
Regular exercise/Get a manual labour or physical job/Walk to school or work instead of driving/Eat a balanced diet.
What do we mean by an everyday task?
Walking pets/Carrying the shopping in/Walking up stairs/Walking to work.
