Why is BMI accurate
Its more accurate because we gather more fat around the abdomen than any where else
BMI measures your waist in relation to your height and gives an estimate to your total body fat

What is a pathogen
Disease causing organism or microorganism
E.g bacteria, fungus, protist, virus
Communicable disease
A disease that can be passed on from person to person
Can be caused by a pathogen getting into the body e.g flu
Non communicable disease
A disease that can’t be passed on or transferred from person to person
Can be caused by a problem in their genes or lifestyle e.g asthma
Examples of non communicable diseases
Scurvy- vitamin c deficiency can cause fatigue, depression
Anaemia- iron deficiency can cause chromic blood loss
Malnutrition- protein deficiency can cause swollen stomach
Rickets- vitamin D deficiency can cause soft bones
Cirrhosis of the liver
Where healthy liver tissue is replaced with scar tissue
Can result in death because its caused by too much alcohol
Cardio vascular disease
The result of the circulatory system working poorly
E.G. Can be caused by smoking or obesity
Can lead to hear attacks and high blood pressure
