Puffy moon face or increased facial hair in femals= cushings syndrome

abnormal: purulent drainage
palpate thyroid
not usually palpable
asymmetry, firmness, tenderness could indicate infection or cancer
palpation of lymph nodes
preauricular: front of ear
posterior auricular: back of ear
occipital
submandibular: under mandible
tonsillar
cervical
supreclavicular
if palpable document: location, size, tenderness, mobility
abnormal findings when palpating lymph nodes
anterior cervical noes: pharyngitis
posterior cervical noes: mono
posterior auricular nodes: otitis media
supraclavicular nodes: metastatic cancer
how to auscultate
use bell
abnormal is bruit which could mean hyperthryoidism

t3-t4 is low

external nose ab fd
asymmetry, swelling, bruising, tenderness, crepitus
internal nose ab fd
nasal mucosa inflammed, excessive clear rhinitis, thick discolored mucus
mouth ab fd
external: dryness/cracking, swelling, lesions
internal: swelling, white patches(yeast), ulceration(viral), petechiae(trauma, infection, low platelet count)
Throat ab fd
hypertrophy of tonsils, peritonsillar abscess, strep throat presents with red and white patches in throat, difficulty swallowing, tender swollen lymph nodes and red/enlarged tonsils
