What does KVM stand-for?
- Keyboard Video Mouse
Note: From the vital 1100 user guide
IOS acronym?
- Instructor operator Station
Note: From the IOS
When turning ON or OFF the control loader which program are you using and what are you looking for that is functioning?
Turning On/Off the “Training” program from the SCSs desktop?
Notes:
- The logs need to be activated.
- Exit out of the “training” program and reboot that program.
- Make sure real time is engaged from the SCS computer.
- Make sure there are no errors on the eCLMnt computer downstairs.
What is the angle or degree of tilt of the screens in the 412S, 412C & total rotational “view” or distance of both
- 412CPT - 45 deg & 180 deg (rotation)
- 412S - 60 degree & 220 deg (rotation)
What are three modes for the server power/sleep LED?
- The server is ON 2. The server is in sleep MODE
- The server is OFF
Name five fault LED scenarios.
- Full green light - Operating Normally
- Green blinking - Operating in a degraded condition
- Orange (Steady-ON) - Operating in critical or unrecoverable condition
- Orange (Blinking) - Operating in a non critical condition
- Off - A post failure or full system stop has occurred
Name a few flight deck servers
SCS - Host Computer Server (Left Screen)
SFS - System File Server (Top Right Screen)
SRS - System Recording Server (Bottom Right Screen)
Name the systems & sub-systems as a part of the DMS system
- Motion System (FFS) - Main
- File Server System (SFS) - Main
- Secondary Motion System - Sub System
- Host Computer (SCS) - Main
- Sound & Visual System - Sub System
- Cockpit Station - Main
- Weather Radar System - Sub System
- Instructor Station - Main
- Control Loading System (CL) - Main
- Avionics Interface System - Main
- Input/ Output System (FDK) - Main
What does the Flight Deck I/O provide?
- Provide control and monitoring of the student station (cockpit)
What are the operating characteristics of the lamps in the 412 FFS.
- They operate at 1080p and 60HZ frequency
What components are considered to be ESD sensitive?
- Integrated Circuits
- Transistors
- Diodes
- Solid State Relays
- Memory Modules
- Magnetic Media (floppy disks, tapes, hard drives)
What does “degraded” mean when referring to electronics
- Continues to operate but fluctuations in power supply variation, operating frequency, change in operating temperature will cause the device to over-heat
Name two of four main components in the eCLMnt cabinet and where it connects to
- control cabinet to motion control cabinet
- data acquisition system (simulator)
- power amplifier (Simulator)
- eCLMnt to the SCS host computer
What does the ACS unit provide to the simulator?
- It provides all the aural, ambient, and environmental sounds necessary of a flight simulator. Capable of generating 162 simultaneous sounds using sixteen output channels.
The ACS interfaces to the host computer for receipt of:
- the generation and distribution of audible sounds to synchronize with the aircrafts
Explain what the DMS Server operates as ?
- Primary control interface between the user and DMS host. Provides most monitor and control features.
How do you clear a display test failure?
For example: The visuals in the 206 are showing memory error?
- Cycle the power to the camera from the flight safety program
- Turn the projector Off and then On if needed
- trouble shooting tip
> 10/18
C90 projector 3 needed a picture because it wasn’t working. The camera was connected to projector 1 and displayed an image. There was a unit that needed to be replaced (intermediary unit).
Audio components (Control Panels) that are located in the simulators:
- Instructor Audio Control Panel
- Pilot Audio Control Panel
- Copilot Audio Control Panel
- Observer Audio Control
- Mic & Phone Jacks
