A RAID has gone down in one of the computers what do you do?

A
  • Power down the VCC and remove/replace the hard drive
25
Q

How can you monitor the condition of your RAID

A
  • Startup by observing the RAID BIOS screen
  • The MegaRAID Storage Manager software application
26
Q

Explain the infrastructure of VITAL 1100 system

A
  • The standard RAID in a VITAL 1100 system is comprised of six drives. If a failed drive is replaced with a new, blank drive, the RAID controller automatically writes the reconstructed data to the new drive.
27
Q

VITAL 1100 continues to function normally following up to how many drive failures?

A
  • Two drive failures, but the RAID system is no longer fault tolerant. A failed third drive results in complete loss of the database.
28
Q

How many drives usually make up the RAID

A

6 drives typically are installed in the VCC

29
Q

What is the purpose of the FMS?

A
  • Allows the pilots to program a route from their point of departure to their destination.
30
Q

Name 1 of 3 main tasks the FMS carries out:

A

1) Provision of flight guidance, lateral, and vertical control of the aircraft flight path
2) Monitoring the aircraft flight envelope and computing the optimum speed for each phase of the flight
3) Automatic control of the engine thrust to control the aircraft speed

31
Q

Name the tasks that can be carried out with the FMS

A
  • Take Off (The Critical Speeds)
  • Departure
  • Enroute
  • Descent
  • Approach
