Banality of evil
A
A person is necessarily not evil, but the society/ a rulling body can be.
A Nazi administarion whom killed thousands of people only did his job. He was was normal human who did evil things, but himself was not evil

A
Lifa has three parts:
- labour: related to the biological process of the body, an ongoing job
- Making/work: making something durable, related to the non-natural part of existence
- Action: speech, politics. Related to the interaction between people

Animal Laborans
A
The modern man hasbecome an Animal Laborans. Becoming drudged into a condemned routine.
The public realm has been destroyed by the private realmm and both have been overtaken by the social realm (the modern state)

Totalitarism
A
- Turns working classes and other groups into ‘masses’. A party syste is replaced by a mass government, hets rid of party programs and is suporrted by the elite
- Sees policts/ ideology as a game of cheating,
- No moderation of power, not utilitarian, negelects national intrest, Relies on the power of organisation
- Is opposed to individualism, intiative, conviction, spontaneity and even rules

Types of Tyranny
A
- Classical tyranny: One versus all
- Tyranny of the Majorty: many versus few
- Soft depotism: mildly all versus each
- Totalitarism: (one+ few + all) versus each, harsly

Totalitarism versus other forms of political opression
A
- Not lawsless but replaces (il)legailty with direct ‘justice’
- Excutes Laws of nature (nazism) or history
- Uses total sytematized terror
