1. bare below elbows, no jewellery
2. wet hands, apply soap
3. strokes - palm-palm; palm-palm w/interlaced fingers; palm-back of palm w/interlaced fingers; backs of fingertips to opposing palms; rotational rubbing of tips of fingers and thumb; rotational rubbing of thumbs; wash wrists
4. rinse fingertips to elbow
5. turn off tap w/elbow
6. dry hands
