  1. introduce/identify/explain/ allergies/wash hands etc

How do you prepare the equipment?

A

(situational management of type 2 resp failure)

  1. select venturi mask
  2. identify correct oxygen percentage and correct flow - 24%/blue + 2L/min or 28%/white + 4L/min
  3. connect tubing to an oxygen source and check flow before applying mask to patient - indicate a snug fit is needed
  4. check patient welfare
  5. document in patients notes
