2. identify correct oxygen percentage and correct flow - 24%/blue + 2L/min or 28%/white + 4L/min
3. connect tubing to an oxygen source and check flow before applying mask to patient - indicate a snug fit is needed
4. check patient welfare
5. document in patients notes

What two things would you do to monitor the patients response?

1. monitor oxygen saturation with pulse oximetry

2. repeat the arterial blood gas analysis within one hour
