• spontaneous haemorrhage into the CNS in cats and dogs is very rare as a primary condition
• may be seen secondary to other coagulopathies such as secondary to angiostrongylus

• in many cases there will be other haemorrhages on CE (make sure you check the retinas) to give you a warning to check for clinical coagulopathy on bloods
