Life cycle

A

2-3-4

  • adults live in small intestine of man / resevoir ( rats and mice )
  • eggs are laid in stool

Direct cycle (3) ( no intermediate host)
- the man is infected by eggs in food
- egg hatches into onchospere penetrating the intestinal VILLI becoming cysticercoid larva then back to lumen ( out of villi) becoming adult
- and then it lay its eggs

Indirect cycle (4)( with intermediate host )
- the feces of rats contaminated with eggs are eaten by flea larva
- egg hatches into onchospere then to cysticercoid larva
- man is infected by eating food contaminated with adult flea containg cyticercoid larva
- cyticercoid larva mature to adult to lay eggs
