- adults live in small intestine of man / resevoir ( rats and mice )
- eggs are laid in stool
Direct cycle (3) ( no intermediate host)
- the man is infected by eggs in food
- egg hatches into onchospere penetrating the intestinal VILLI becoming cysticercoid larva then back to lumen ( out of villi) becoming adult
- and then it lay its eggs
Indirect cycle (4)( with intermediate host )
- the feces of rats contaminated with eggs are eaten by flea larva
- egg hatches into onchospere then to cysticercoid larva
- man is infected by eating food contaminated with adult flea containg cyticercoid larva
- cyticercoid larva mature to adult to lay eggs

Asymptomatic with light infection
Heavy infection : vomiting , diarrhea, nausea, constipation , GROWTH RETARDATION

Detecting eggs in stool
Treatment
Praziquental repeated after 10 days due auto infection and all family members must take it
Inhabitants- diagnostic - infective - definitve - resrvoir -intermediate - mode of infection
Small intestine- egg- cyticercoid larva ( indirect) / eggs ( direct) - man- rats / mice - flea ( indirect) -
food contaminated with egg ( direct )
food contaminated with adult flea containg cyticercoid larva
