What are the main option for treatment of endometrial cancer

Answer 1

mainstay is surgery - total hysterctomy with bilateral salpingooophorectomy
+ if high grade- pelvic and paraarotic node dissection (and radical hysterctomy)

can use post op radiotherapy -lower reccurent but no changes in survival
chemo used in advanced/metastatic disease

Hormone treatment - progestins-
can be used for atypical hyperplasia or low grade stage 1A
relapses rates high
only if not fit for surgery or want fertility preservation

What are the types of endometrial cancer

Answer 2

type 1 - SEM- secretoy, endometrioid, mucious carcinomas - younger patients, oestrogen dependent, low grade

Type 2- SC- serous and clear cell- less oestrogen, higher grades

Remember- most present in stage 1 ( limited to uterus)
Stage 2 - is spread to cervix
3 to adjascent
