Risks for Endometrial cancer
conditions associated with prolonged exposure to unopposed estrogen
early menarche
late menopause
PCOS with anovulation
nulliparity
use of unopposed estrogens (or prolonged exposure to estrogen)
Presentation of endometrial cancer
unexplained vaginal bleeding
(especially in postmenopausal women)
ANY unexplained bleeding (except that experience as part of an expected withdrawal bleed while on HT) is considered a possible sign of cancer
Vulcar carcinoma
Early signs of ovarian cancer
abdominal distentsion
bloating
flatulence
difficulty eating or easily feeling full when eating
other persistent GI distrubances
diarrhea or constipation
abdominal or pelvic pain
fatigue
urinary complaints
urgency or frequency
irregular vaginal bleeding
It is usually 1st diagnosed in the late stage.
Risk factors for vulvar cancer
associated with HPV exposure
Prevention- HPV vaccine
any person with a hx of infection with a high-risk HPV type
should be considered at risk for vulvar or vaginal cancers
smoking
multiple sex partners
GYN cancers
lichen sclerosis
immunosuppressive disorders (HIV)
female offspring of women who took DES in pregnancy
late adolescence and early 20’s occurrence
