What does the rise of FSH and LH cause?
A
Growth of 4-12 primordial follicles into primary ovarian follicles

A

What is the sequence or hormonal surge to ovulation?
A
Developing follicles produce estrogen. Estrogen levels remain low until 4 days before ovulation, when the dominant or active follicles produce an estrogen surge. Following thus surge, there is a LH and Prostaglandin surge, resulting in ovulation.
