What information does a frequency distribution give you?
The number/frequency of individuals in each category
How do you find the total number of scores in a distribution?
Add up all the frequencies
How do you find relative frequency/proportion?
Frequency divided by the total number of scores
When making a grouped frequency table, how do you choose the bin width? (size of each category)
Highest score minus lowest score plus 1, divided by number of rows you want
How do you calculate range?
Highest score minus lowest score plus 1
If the apparent limits of a bin are 5 and 7, what are the real limits?
4.5 and 7.5
When graphing, where is frequency listed?
Y-axis

Yes
What type of data is a histogram used for?
Numerical data
How do you find the midpoint?
lowest score plus highest score divided by 2
Do bars touch in a bar graph?
No, it is used for nominal and ordinal data which is discrete information
Describe a normal distribution
Symmetrical, middle has greatest frequency
