Cysts inactive form resistant to environmental conditions outside host infective form many nuclei live outside host

giardia flagellate lives in small bowel diarrhoea very young children maybe animal reservoirs important
histolytica lives in large bowel amoeba dysentery remote abscesses, mainly in liver older children and adults
