Macbeth is saying and questioning if all the water in the seas is able to cleanse his soul from the stain of murder ‘making the green one red’ there is so much blood it will turn the sea itself red, he has had to turn to another God as he has committed to bad of a crime to be able to talk to him now
it is an accustomed action with her, look how she rubs her hands
links back to ‘a little washed us of this deed’ try’s to wash away guilt. she is trying to wash away the stain of murder
a little water clears us of this deed
lady macbeth is trying to say that all they need to do is wash the blood of their hands and the slate is clean but macbeth fears the deed will never go
sleep no more! macbeth does murder sleep. they innocent sleep
macbeth feels so guilty that he says he will never sleep again. sleep= necessity if life. he has now lost this he is so consumed by his guilt
this is a sorry sight
showing his regret and remorse for what he’s done but is not showing much empathy for what he has done
