ambition is portrayed as dangerous through the play because of how quickly it can get out of control. this is shown through the progressions of murders from macbeth considering mortality of Duncan to not hesitating for Banquous + Macduff family

A

hamartia is the fatal character flaw of the tragic hero. ambition is macbeths hamartia leading to his tragic downfalll. he kills his best friend for power and ambition showing his madness

A

they both have ambition to have power but eventually their ambition is destroyed. Macbeth lets manipulation take over her even when he was conscious of his actions much show the danger of ambition. Ambition grew so much in Macbeth he used manipulation like his wife in order to obtain power

shows ambition as a huge warning that isn’t balanced by morals and reason it’s a warning from the gun powder plot warning them not to consider committing such big crimes

motivates him to commit terrible deeds. it’s his biggest weakness and fatal flaw that leads to his downfall as a character
