- preformer might not feel capable of matching the demostration
- demonstration must be accurate
- preformer may not be able to ask questions
advantages of verbal guidance
- can give more detailed information
- useful for experts who just require tweaks to certain skills
- useful to use alongside visual guidance
disadvantages of verbal guidance
- not all of information might be taken in
- preformer might lose concentration
- language could be too complex for a beginner
