assess smoking and alcohol pattern. pt should NOT drink alcohol or use other drugs containing alcohol since the effects of alcohol and guaifenesin cause drowsiness. Thus avoid taking together

how would you maximize the therapeutic effects of guaifenesin
teach teh pt about good pulmonary ygiene, which includes coughing, using deep breathing, drinking plenty of fluids, and using a humidifier
how would you minimize the A/E of guaifenesin
suggest that the pt eat small freq meals to alleviate GI upset
