Growth and Dev III Flashcards
Where is primate space located?
Mesial to max canines
Distal to man canines.
Permanent teeth erupt where in relation to primary teeth?
Lingual.
What is early mixed dentition? Late?
Early= Eruption of perm first molars and incisors Late= Eruption of remaining perm teeth.
What is the arch length/depth?
Distance from a line perpendicular to mesial surface of permanent first molars to a point between central incisors.
What is arch circumference?
Sum of MD diameters both left and right.
What is incisor liability?
Permanent incisors are larger than primary and can cause some crowding.
What is leeway space? How much space in man and max?
excess space available due to primary molars being bigger than permanent premolars..
Man= 2.5 mm/ quad
Max= 2.0 mm/ quad
Primary distal will turn into what permanent relationships how?
Distal–>Class II with minimal growth.
Distal–>end to end with forward movement of mandible.
Distal–> In between with shift of leeway space
What contribute to primary to permanent molar relationships?
- Differential growth of jaws
- Forward growth of man
- Sufficient leeway space.
Arch perimeter decreases by how much in permanent dentition?
4 mm
Primary Flush will turn into permanent relationships how?
Flush–>End with minimal growth.
Flush–>Class I with forward growth of mandible.
Flush–>In between with shift of leewayspace
Mesial step will turn into what how?
Mesial–>class I with minimal growth.
Mesial–>Class III with forward growth of mandible.
Mesial–>In between with shift of leeway space
