Name the borders and contents of the anatomical snuff box.
Medial border extensor pollicis longus, lateral border extensor pollicis brevis and abductor pollicis longus. The floor is the scaphoid. Contents are the radial artery and the superficial radial nerve.
What structures limit flexion at the elbow?
Bony appositions of the head of the radius and radial fossa of the humerus. The posterior band of the ulnar collateral ligament.
What structures limit extension at the elbow?
The anterior cord of the ulnar collateral ligament and the anterior joint capsule
What structures limit pronation?
Dorsal inferior radio-ulnar collateral ligament and interosseous membrane
What structures limit supination?
The anterior inferior radio-ulnar collateral ligament and the interosseous membrane.
What is the carrying angle in men and women?
Men 10-15 degrees
Women 15 degrees or more
What is the range of motion at the elbow in flexion and extension?
160 degrees of flexion
180 degrees of extension
What is the ratio of wrist extension that occurs at the mid carpal joint to the radio-carpal joint?
33 degrees at mid carpal to 66 degrees at the radiocarpal.
