What are Stefani?
The vine training method preferred on Santorini. The vines are woven into a basket. The grape are grown on the inside of the baskets.
Benefits:
1) Grapes are sheltered from the harsh winds of the Medirerranean Sea
2) Overnight dew gets trapped inside which provides another vital water source for an island that rarely sees rain.
3) Grapes retain warmth overnight since they are close to the ground
