Define an Adverb
A
- A word that modifies a verb telling you how, where or when an action takes place
- Can also modify adjectives, telling you how much (e.g. ‘I am REALLY delighted’)

Define Adverbs of Manner.
A
- Tells you how the action was completed
- e.g. ‘I ate the cheese greedily’

Define Adverbs of Time.
A
- Tell you when the action was completed
- e.g. ‘She bought the cheese yesterday’

A
- Tell you where the action was completed
- e.g. ‘Put the cheese THERE’

A
- Tell you how often the action is completed
- e.g. ‘I regularly buy cheese’

A
- Tell you how much the action is completed (e.g. ‘I REALLY like mayonnaise’).
- Can also modify adjectives in some cases (e.g. ‘Those flowers are EXTREMELY beautiful’)

- Part of a clause or sentence which identifies where, when + how- modifying the verb.
