- anaemia
- loss of weight
- anorexia
- recent onset and progressive sx
- melaena
- swallowing difficulty

A
- Chest x ray - shows haitus hernia
- Barium swallow
- 24 hour ph testing and manometry

When is a OGD (gastroscopy) indicated?
A
If patient is > 55 or exhibits ALARM symptoms

What is the first line medical management of GORD?
A
- Antacids - Gaviscon
- Full dose PPI - Lanzoprozole
- 1/2 months

Second line mx of Gord?
A
- Double dose PPI
2. H2 receptor antagonist - Ranitadine

Third line mx of GORD?
A
Nissen fundoplication
- laproscopic surgery to repair haitus hernia
- wraps gastric fundus around oesophagus
