focuses on the outcome result of particular events
what is a performance goal?
specifies the end product of performance
what is a process goal?
specifies behaviours in which the performer will engage in during performance eg. technique, strategy.
what are the advantages and disadvantages of outcome goals?
Adv- facilitate motivation away from competition
Dis- often uncontrollable, can increase anxiety and negative thoughts/ irrelevant thoughts

Adv- more controllable, less dependable on opponents
Dis- can lead to overthinking and anxiety, difficult to prioritice them
