A

Pancreatitis hx
Family hx of medullary thyroid CA (Victoza)
Decreased kidney function (Byetta)

Serious adverse reactions

A

Pancreatitis (30 (Byetta) and 6 (Victoza) reports in patients mostly already at risk)
Nephrotoxicity (generally had pre-existing kidney disease or risk factors, may have been exacerbated by N/V/D (Byetta only)
Medullary thyroid cancer
MEN type 2
Hypoglycemia (w/SU)

Common adverse reactions

A

Nausea (40% - Byetta, 10% - Victoza) - dose related and transient
Delays gastric emptying - abx and OCPs should be taken 1 hour before
