Cap sleeve

  • a sleeve that is 1.5” - 4” long and that hangs over the edge of the shoulder without extending along the underside of the arm.

Convertible collar

  • open - folds back into lapels. The width of the lapel is usually just enough to close the garment. Also know as a ‘sports collar’, because when it is open it makes a shirt look like a sport shirt but when closed gives a dressy appearance.
  • closed - may be fastened with buttons, zips or hooks.

  • a very tall standing collar with the points turned up over the chin. It is supposed to be worn with an ascot tie. It got its name from a town in England called Ascot, a place for formal race meetings in the early 20th century.
